The Beauty of a Girl

Three years ago you came into the world, silent, eyes wide.

It didn’t take long for you to find your voice. And that you did.

You are your Mama’s eyes. Your Daddy’s nose.

The beauty of your smile is all your own.

The daintiness of your body is offset by your strength of spirit.

You are pink bows, tiaras, and ballerina toes.

You are also mud puddles, messy hair, and monkey jumps.

A crazy mix of sweet, sensitive, stubborn, and sass.

You can be fiercely independent or decidedly clingy.

Pink cupcakes, pink ice-cream, pink shoes…your innate love for pink.

You are uncontrollable giggles or a storm of tears.

You want to fly like a butterfly or stomp like a dinosaur.

You are a beautiful swirl of complexity.

Witnessing your story unfold is a delicious privilege.

The beauty of a girl…my girl.

beautiful post! little girls are a special and wonderful thing…..my favorite image of my oldest daughter is her dressed up in her princess dress, wearing black rubber mudboots and playing in the dirt pile with a tractor. that pretty much sums her up right there!

What a beautiful tribute to your little girl. Isn't it fun watching her turn into her own special person? It sounds like she has one great personality, Dr. Mom, and lots of confidence. Keep up the great work :)

Beautiful! I love how girls are simply girls. We analzye it to death as students, but when it comes down to it most little girls are simply little girls who love to twirl and to wear things that are pink and purple.
